James Wilson Obituary
ROSE HILL - James Lloyd Wilson, 76, of Rose Hill, NC, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. Born in Rose Hill on December 9, 1948, James lived a life marked by service, kindness, and deep devotion to his faith, family, and friends.
A proud veteran, James served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Saigon, Vietnam, as a Military Police officer. After his military service, he dedicated many years to his career at DuPont before retiring.
James found joy in life's simple pleasures-gardening, woodworking, and cooking-always eager to share his passions with others. He never met a stranger, treating everyone he encountered with dignity and respect. His generosity and warmth left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Mathis Wilson; his mother, Janet Jones Wilson; and his younger brother, Michael Wilson.
James is survived by his brothers, Richard Wilson and Joseph Wilson and wife Paula; his sons, Michael and wife Peggy, Charles and wife Beverly, Joshua, and Edwin; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Jefferson, Victor, Brennan, and Jaylin; and his great-grandson, Wilder. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of cousins, nephews, and nieces, whom he cherished deeply.
James's presence will be greatly missed, but his legacy of kindness, love, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Services will be held at, Padgett Funeral Home, 401 West Main Street, Wallace 28466 on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Visitation will begin at 1:00pm services will follow at 2:00pm.
The burial will take place at Devotional Garden 1260 NC 24 & Hwy 50, Warsaw, NC 28398 At approximately 3:30pm
