Karen Halley Obituary

Karen M. Halley, 76, New Haven, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Halley, daughter of the late James Neier and Florene, nee Homeyer, was born April 12, 1949, in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School. On May 23, 1975, she was united in marriage to Michael Halley at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington.

Karen had a deep appreciation for nature and found great joy in spending time outdoors. She cherished fishing trips and camping adventures, often sharing these experiences with family and friends. Mushroom hunting and searching for arrowheads were among her favorite pastimes, pursuits that reflected her curiosity and love for discovery in the natural world.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Michael Neier, Sandy Neier, Tim Neier, and sister-in-law Karol Neier.

Among her survivors are her husband, Michael Halley, Washington; four children, Richard ?Ben? Halley and wife Vanessa, Chatham, Illinois, Christopher Halley, Jeff Halley, both of Washington, and Mandy Sue Halley and significant other Justin Marty, St. Louis; siblings, Kathy Sieges and husband Herm, Union, Patty Taylor and husband Chuck, Pam Kimminau and husband Bill, all of Washington, and Susan Amburgy and husband Mike of Caulfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Aiden Halley and AJ Miller; many more loved ones and so many friends.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or OLL Church.
