Donald Thibault Obituary

Bloomington - age 84. Preceded in death by grandparents; parents, Henry and Shirley; wife, Lorita; and brothers, Ron and Henry. Survived by sister, Geraldine Thibault Struss; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Donald was raised on the farm west of Faribault. A 1959 graduate of Bethlehem Academy. He later continued his education at Mankato State University where he got his BS in teaching and a Masters in Chemistry. A middle school science teacher in Faribault and Bloomington who later finished his teaching career as a chemistry teacher at Bloomington Kennedy High School. Besides teaching, Dohn also enjoyed directing plays in the community as well as at Bloomington Kennedy that lasted well through his retirement. It is estimated that he directed well over 200 plays. Don's hobbies also included traveling the US and abroad, watercolor painting, tending to his 100+ rose bushes and attending many extended family celebrations. Even with a life full of accomplishments and hobbies, Dohn still made his family his top priority. He was a great caretaker to all including his wife, Lorita, his aging parents and other extended relatives. He was a selfless family man that will be greatly missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 11 a.m. at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave. So. Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Reception to follow mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
