Phillip Gross Obituary

Phillip Dean Gross, 76, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away on July 14, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on July 21, 1948, in Wray, Colorado, the son of the late George Gross and Anita Gross. Phil graduated from Columbia City High School in 1966. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Phil was an Embalmer and Funeral Director at the former Hollingsworth Funeral Home in Columbia City, IN. He later became a part of the management team at Magnavox and Stuart Manufacturing in Fort Wayne, IN. While working at Magnavox he met his wife, Terri. After 2 months of dating, they were married in Las Vegas. Phil was known for his ability to lighten any situation with a joke, a laugh, and his loving personality. He made friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger. He and his wife, Terri, had a cottage on Big Long Lake for over 40 years. He rarely missed a weekend and surely took thousands of laps around the lake, with a cooler and a gas can, of course. Phil is survived by his wife of 42 years, Terri L. Gross of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Abbey (Chad) Davidson of San Clemente, CA, Jessica (Toby) of Bedford, IN; Kelly Harber, of Fort Wayne, IN, and two grandchildren, Zoe (Timothy) McNamara, and Cooper Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Gross. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation 2 hours prior. Memorials by be made to Fort Wayne Animal and Care of Control. To sign the online guestbook.

Will remember Phil for his smile, always a joke away from being serious. A classmate & friend, he will be missed by everyone who knew him. Prayers of comfort to his family. As another friend who knew him well & I joked, the good Lord will surely have His hands full trying to get this guy under control. Rest in peace without pain now! Blessed to have known you! Phil and I would walk downtown after school and stop at the drug store soda fountain and have sodas and phosphates. A lot of laughter involved all the time. Phil was the best. Later he and Terri came in to the restaurant where I worked. So good to see him after all these years
My condolences to Terri and the children.
