Elizabeth Poffinberger Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Poffinberger, age 87 of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Fahrney-Keedy in Boonsboro, MD. She was the wife of the late W. Phillip Walter, who passed away in December 1987. Born on July 14, 1938, in Howard County, Maryland, Mrs. Poffinberger was the daughter of the late Gordon and Helen Louis Justice.

Mrs. Poffinberger was a member of Jennings Chapel Church in Howard County, Maryland. She enjoyed cooking, county music, dancing, and working with her flowers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Poffinberger is survived by her husband Charles William (Bill) Poffinberger, children: Phylis Cline of Myersville and Wanda Walter of Myersville, 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Also surviving is her brother Ernie Justice of Ijamsville and sister June Davis of Westminster and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Phillip and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Bruce, son-in-law Elmer, daughter Linda, and brother Leroy.

The family will receive family and friends at Thompson Harman Funeral Home in Middletown, MD on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 10 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service. Pastor David Howell will officiate.

The interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery in Sykesville, MD. Elizabeth Poffinberger
