My sister, Cheryl, and I knew Margaret Ann all our lives, first as next door neighbors, then in schools with Margaret Ann and I graduating together from Booker T. Washington H.S. in 1965. We had much fun, even some mischief, around our beloved neighborhood of Stephens Place in South Memphis. After graduation I left Memphis for college, but Margaret and Cheryl stayed in Memphis and we all stayed in touch on-and-off. When we visited her in the hospital, Margaret Ann introduced us as her "sisters", an honor I will always cherish. She will be sorely missed (her smile and laughter and jokes, her commanding presence,...), not just by Michael and Kameelah, both of whom we have come to know and cherish! Our loving God knows best!
