Anthony Anderson Obituary

Kendall, WI - Anthony J. Anderson, 89, of Kendall, died suddenly on Monday, April 7, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 20, 1935, to Alfred and Lulu (Preuss) Anderson on the family farm in the Township of Clifton. Anthony was baptized and confirmed at Fountain Lutheran Church. He attended Rocky Run Country School and was a member of the Kendall High School Class of 1952. Anthony also attended Luther College and La Crosse State Teachers College. In 1954, Anthony began working for General Motors in Janesville. While working at the plant, he attended Janesville Vocational School to become a supervisor. On May 26, 1956, he was united in marriage to Joyce Lawrence. They had four children: Gary, Dave, Lisa, and Jeff. While living in Janesville, the family were members of Faith Lutheran Church, where Anthony faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher, Confirmation Teacher, Bethel Bible Series Teacher, usher, and member of the church council. After 37 years, Anthony retired from General Motors. Following his retirement, he and Joyce moved to Kendall and became members of Fountain Lutheran Church. Once again, Anthony faithfully served on the church council and the Fountain Lutheran Cemetery Board. He enjoyed spending time visiting and playing cards with his Kendall buddies. Anthony loved spending time outdoors and cherished moments on the family farm. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and brother-in-law.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Joyce, Anthony is survived by his children: Dave (Mary) of West Salem and Lisa (James) Krebs of Janesville; his two grandsons, Andrew (partner, Alina Capanna) Krebs of Milwaukee and Alex (Katrina Santos) Krebs of Janesville; two brothers, Thomas Anderson of Holmen and Dale (Nancy) Anderson of Fort Atkinson; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Anthony was preceded in death by his sons, Gary and Jeff Anderson, and his brother, Norman Anderson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 12 Noon at Fountain Lutheran Church, W10815 Church Rd. Hustler, WI. Pastor JP Olson will officiate. Burial will take place at the Church Cemetery immediately after the service.
