Linda Grube Kahl, 86, of Simsbury, CT, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Virginia Connolly Residence.
Linda was born on October 23rd, 1938, in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Herbert Grube (dec. 1985) and Selma Lind Grube (dec. 1941). She was predeceased by her former husband, Robert Gerard Kahl (Cole) (dec. 2008). Linda is survived by her sons, Mark and Jonathan Kahl (Leslie); and granddaughters, Ava and Anna Kahl, and Kaylee Kohler. Linda was also predeceased by her stepmother, Nellie Davis Grube (dec. 1987); and brother, John Grube (dec. 1976) (Lynn, dec. 1975). Linda is also survived by her brother, Edgar Grube (Susan) (Juta); sister, Gail Grube Leveille (Bill dec. 1995); and brother, Guy Grube (Janie). Pam, Jeff, Loren, Michael, Ken, Holly, Karen, Bill (dec. 2005), and Michele are beloved Grube nieces and nephews.
Linda was a graduate of Northfield School (now Northfield Mount Herman) in 1956. Linda received a baccalaureate in English, with honors from Clark University, in 1960. Linda served the community, working in our libraries for many years at the MIT library, Rockville Public Library, and Manchester/Whiton Library. Linda was a lover of books and writing and loved to find phrases, quotes, wit, and opinions from books, magazines, newspapers, or anywhere words were written. Linda said that her greatest satisfaction came from her grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the health care staff at the Virginia Connolly Residence for all their help and effort on Linda's behalf over the years.
