JoAnn Miller Perry, born September 9, 1960, age 65, New Palestine, IN, passed away Saturday morning (10/11/25) after a 2-year battle with cancer. She passed quietly in her sleep with her family near-by knowing the prayers of many will remain with her.
JoAnn was a farm girl from western Kentucky. She grew up with the love of parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She graduated high school from Todd County Central High and went on to receive an Associate of Science degree from Murray State University in Horticulture. Her love of ornamental plants and flowers never wilted. She comes from a family of 6; 4 sisters and 2 brothers, as she was number 5. She maintained a special bond with her sisters who were with her until her last days still telling stories of their youth. She is the mother of 3 and the grandmother of 5. She loved being nana. God blessed her with a strength, a heart, and a soul I'll never have.
JoAnn loved to laugh. When she laughed, her whole body laughed. She could take air out of a room with a single laugh. You could tell when you made her laugh as peace overcame her, her pain went away, her worries faded, and her fear was paused. For all those out there who made her laugh we can't thank you enough.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Kevin M. Perry of New Palestine, IN; her children, son, William M. Perry (Darcie Blain-Perry) of Muncie, IN and her daughter, Emily Perry-Braun (Matthew) of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Ezekiel Rippy, Ezra Perry, Hadley Jo Perry, Warhol Braun, and Sunny Braun; her brothers and sisters: Victoria Miller of Nashville, TN, Andy Miller (Rhonda) of Guthrie, KY, Bonnie Fergusen (Robert) of Clarksville, TN, Sandi Sager (Craig) of Clarksville, TN; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her son, Daniel H. Perry; her parents, father, Andrew Gill (Mickey) Miller and her mother, Dorothy Turner Miller of Olmstead, KY; her brother, Waltus Miller of Olmstead, KY; and her grandparents, Waltus and Bernice Turner of Guthrie, KY.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to
