Of all that Edgehill crew, the finest one I knew, was my friend and agitator, Marge Robben. (Apologies to Rudyard Kipling)
I remember Marge, not only from McIntosh Court in the late sixties but also from the end of June, when I last visited her on the second floor of our Edgehill home.
Of all her virtues the greatest, in my mind, was that she was caring, as in being concerned what was happening to people around her.
Her second greatest virtue was that she took action to help solve the problems she saw. Marge cared, but more importantly, Marge acted.
In her five years at Edgehill Marge embarrassed me into helping in a half-dozen of her numerous campaigns to make a better Edgehill. Among her more permanent monuments are the establishment (After months and months of management and some resident denial) of regular "Mixer Dinners" at which people are seated at random, the idea being to share a meal with someone you might not know.
A second major achievement for Marge was the establishment of program to have residents make regularly scheduled small group visits to "Harbor", the Edgehill memory care facility, to share activities with the residents there.
Yes, Marge cared. Yes, Marge took action. Yes, Marge annoyed a lot of people. Yes, Marge is my hero!

So sorry to hear about Marge´s passing. Of course I remember that Marge was instrumental in getting Emmaus started even before Holy Spirit. I also remember your whole family finding refuge in our home while we were on vacation after that terrible episode with the lightning. I remember Marge having no difficulty speaking her mind, and what she said was usually worth listening to. I remember Marge, smiling and engaged, zipping her way through Edgehill in her wheelchair! So many memories through the years. My condolences to all of you kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. I know she was a special woman to you and that you will never forget her.

We remember Margie fondly from the days we were together at the Emmaus Community. Did knot know of all the escapades she participated in--a fullfilling life! Our sincere condolences to the Robben (and extended) family. Paul (and Maria) Nakian
