MARGARET HAYNES Obituary

Margaret Anne "Peg" Haynes passed away on December 28, 2024, at Havasu Regional Medical Center.



Peg was born on June 15, 1940, in Miles City, Montana. She was the daughter of Clarence and Ruth Johnson.



Peg met Otis Haynes in 1959 while attending Montana State College in Bozeman, Montana. They were married on Sept 28, 1961.



Peg and Otis moved to Seattle where Otis was employed as an engineer for Honeywell Corp. They later moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where daughter Kathleen was born. They later moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Kirk and Kelly were born.



In the early seventies, they all moved to Reston, Virginia for Otis' work assignment. They did a lot of sightseeing and some deep-sea fishing.



The family later moved to Tonka Bay, Minnesota and bought a Standard Service Garage and John Deere dealership. Due to bad economic conditions, they sold the business in 1982 and moved the family to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to start anew. Peg worked as a registered nurse in Lake Havasu City (LHC) and Parker, Arizona.



Peg and Otis were continually active in the LHC Lions Club up until Otis' death in 2006. Prior to that, the family was also active in boating, water skiing, and off-road adventures.



Peg purchased a home in Havasu Gardens in 2010 and was highly active in the HOA, social activities including playing cards with a good group of lady friends. She was also a volunteer with the Desert Hills Fire Department and the WELA board at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.



Peg had a chance to travel to Europe, the Middle East, Colorado, and California multiple times.



Peg led a full life and was loved by all. She is survived by her three children (Kathleen, Kirk, and Kelly), four grandchildren (Collin, Chandler, Kaylee, and Tori), two sisters (Diane and Carol), and Valentine (the family rabbit).



Memorial Services will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church located at 2170 Havasupai Blvd. in LHC on Saturday, January 4th at 11am.
