Robin Wilhelm Obituary
Robin Andrew Wilhelm, (74) of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Vickie (McClean), of 53 years, and his two children, Tracy and Spencer. Robin was the embodiment of a calm, steady presence and possessed a gentle soul. He was well-liked by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. His unwavering patience meant he never lost his temper, a quality his family cherished deeply. Born in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming on September 9, 1951 to Robert and Mary Lynne Wilhelm, Robin spent his early years there before his family moved to Evergreen, Colorado. It was in Evergreen that he met his high school sweetheart and future bride, Vickie. They were married in 1972 and returned to Pine Bluffs where they would build their life and family. After working in various jobs for his father, Robin and Vickie opened their own business, RA Lumber. Together, Robin and Vickie ran the family business, earning the respect and affection of their community for many years. In 2004, Robin and Vickie retired to a beautiful property they named Hidden Creek in Theodosia, Missouri. On 29 acres surrounding Bull Shoals Reservoir, they built a home that became a beloved gathering place. Family and friends frequently visited to fish, boat, ski, and simply relax. Robin's three grandchildren-Vivian, Ryan, and Eleanor-adored their grandpa, who was always ready to explore the forest, give another ride on the jet ski, patiently bait their hooks, and lead a "hootenanny" on the porch. Robin was immensely proud of his family and made a point to tell everyone he met about them. In 2023, Robin and Vickie embarked on a second retirement, moving to Leesburg, Florida, where they delighted in playing golf almost every day and soaking up the sunshine. Robin and Vickie shared countless adventures, exploring every corner of the U.S. and many countries. He was always ready to follow Vickie, who kept their suitcase packed. Robin was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother, Christopher. He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Tracy (John Ostrander) of Lincoln, NE; his son, Spencer (Maggie) of Somers, NY; his grandchildren, Vivian, Ryan, and Eleanor; his sisters, Dawn McNamee and Gerilyn Wilhelm; and his brothers, Layne (Karen) and Greg (Debbie). Interment of ashes and a celebration of life will be held in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming at a later date. Specific details will be shared by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
