MT. ZION - Michael B. "Griff" Griffith 63, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 12:04 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from injuries sustained from an accident.

A funeral service to honor Mike's life will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Odd Fellows Lodge #300. Mike was born August 13, 1962, in Decatur, Ill. the son of Blaine and Inez (Banning) Griffith. He retired after a long career with Top Quality Roofing Company. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his younger years and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also had a passion for NHRA racing and especially loved the unmistakable smell of nitro. He enjoyed scuba diving and swimming in his pool, but his greatest love was his dog, Shelby, who was always by his side-whether at home, cruising around in one of the cars he worked on, or riding in his new Bronco.

Mike never met a stranger. He was always smiling, loved to talk, and could carry on a conversation with anyone. He was blessed with many friends, made new ones everywhere he went, and was always there to lend a helping hand.

He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge in Sullivan, the Mt. Zion Odd Fellows Lodge #300, and Roofers Local #92.

Surviving is his aunt, Kaye Banning of Cowden, Ill.; many cousins and many special friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
