BETTY LORRAINE MUDDER was born July 2, 1932, in Malin, Oregon, the daughter of the late Earl Haney and Gazel (Rosenkranz) Haney. She was raised and received her education in the communities of Bly, Beatty, Bonanza and Klamath Falls, Oregon, and was a graduate of the Klamath Union High School Class of 1950.
She was united in marriage to Glenn Frederick Mudder on February 3, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Following their marriage they resided in Klamath Falls, Oregon, until 1992, when they moved to Springfield, Oregon, where they lived for fifteen years. In 2007, they moved to the Hillsboro community, where she has resided since.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, on October 18, 2011, in Hillsboro, Oregon, after celebrating over sixty years of marriage together.
She worked as payroll clerk for Montgomery Ward Company for several years, and later as a bookkeeper for their business, Glenn Mudder Wholesale Grocery and Produce Company, for
twelve years, but her favorite job was working as a housewife, mother, and grandmother.
While living in the Klamath Falls community, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and since moving to the Hillsboro community, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Among her special interests, Betty enjoyed boating, camping, snowmobiling, crocheting, and gardening.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Gazel Haney; her twin brothers, Gerry and Jerry Haney and her three sisters, Lavonne Forster, Gay Greathouse and Bonny Jo
Thomas.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Pat Brennan, of Hillsboro, Oregon and her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Paula Mudder, of Springfield, Oregon. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Stacey and David Buck, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Scott and Yolanda Brennan, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Shauna and Stan Nichols, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Kyle and Jessica Mudder, of Eugene, Oregon; Kris and Janelle Neustel, of Hood River, Oregon; Michelle Mudder, of LaGrande, Oregon and Christopher Mudder and Sommer Kirk, of Redmond, Oregon; her fourteen great-grandchildren, Emma Buck; Daniel Buck; Joy Buck; Glenn Buck; Kaylyn Brennan; McKenzie Brennan; Brennan Nichols; Amelia Nichols; Caleb Nichols; Kaden Mudder; Beckett
Mudder; Kylinn Neustel; Kenten Neustel and Henry Kirk Mudder and several nieces and nephews.
A private celebration will be held at the Brennan/Nichols home in Hillsboro on August 16, 2025.
