Eleanor Arentzen Obituary

Eleanor (Elly) Scott Dudley Arentzen passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She was born in Ames, Iowa, to Fred Adair and Jean Scott Dudley.

Elly was educated in Morehead, Kentucky, and Pullman, Washington, before attending Western Washington University in Bellingham on a music scholarship as a piano student.

In 1953, she married Frederick J. "Jerry" Arentzen, beginning a loving partnership that lasted 59 years until Jerry's death in 2012.

Elly dedicated 25 years (1960-1985) to the Edmonds School District, serving as secretary to three superintendents.

She was the proud mother of Leslie Kay, Susan House (Gary), and Stuart Arentzen; beloved grandmother 'Mommom' to Tyler Paige (Brenda), Ryan Paige, Evan Feller, and Elizabeth Feller; and great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three nephews and two nieces. For decades, Elly and Jerry opened their Edmonds home for cherished family gatherings, creating lasting traditions and memories that spanned generations.

Elly enjoyed traveling with a special interest in family history as an Anglophile, including memorable experiences in England. She loved family photography, entertaining family and friends, and trailer camping adventures with her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Jerry, sister Janice Baldwin, and nephew Bruce Baldwin.

A memorial gathering of family will be held in the near future.
