Phyllis Ann Buchanan

Phyllis Ann Buchanan, age 87, of Bakersville, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Phyllis was born September 22, 1937, in Mitchell County, the daughter of the late Claude Buchanan and Hazel Sparks Buchanan.

Phyllis was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Hickory. She loved her immediate family and extended family very much. She loved life and people in general.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Sonya Garland.

Those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her sister, Carolyn Garland (Carroll) of the Bethlehem Community; her nephew, Steve Garland (Marcia) of Taylorsville; her great-nephew, Lance Garland and great-niece, Taylor Garland; and a host of extended family, friends, present, and past. A special thank you to the many beloved friends and family in the Cane Creek, Bakersville, NC community.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ben Rowe will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Bethlehem.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Viewmont Baptist Church in Hickory.
