Debbie Hummel Obituary

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the radiant life of our beloved mother, Debbie Hummel, age 64, who passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2025, of natural causes in Yucca Valley, California.
Debbie was born on May 5, 1961, in Topeka, Kansas, daughter of Paul and Phylis Croonenberghs.
She was a force of love and joy and had a fearless spirit. She lived every day with purpose and passion - laughing often, loving deeply and lifting up everyone around her. She lived life fully and unapologetically.
She was a bright light with a heart filled with generosity, finding the positive in people and the beauty in all things that sparkled.
Debbie earned her associate degree from San Diego State University and bachelor's degree in business management from Chapman University, demonstrating drive and determination.
Her successful career included serving as director of business at El Mirador Surgery Center, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues for her enthusiasm and strong work ethic.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robin Hummel, of 30 years and together they raised four children: daughter Ashly Lafferty and sons Jason Lafferty, Christopher Hummel and Anthony Hummel.
She is survived by her mother and best friend, Phylis Croonenberghs, her loyal sister, Brenda McClay (Bill McClay), and brother Dwight Croonenberghs (Frances Lopez Croonenberghs).
She had nine grandchildren, Annecia, Mason, Devin, Joey, Noah, Zoey, Ava, Natalie and Bailey, and one great-granddaughter, Amira Lynn. She adored her nephews, Kyle, Erik and Connor McClay, as well as her nieces, Elizabeth Lopez and Nora Croonenberghs.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Paul Croonenberghs, and grandson Cameron Lafferty.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Hawk's Landing Golf Course, Yucca Valley with a reception to follow.
