Dede came into my life when she began dating Jules and moved next door. Our friendship continued throughout the years - dinners, afternoon tea, and emergency trips to the Creamery. She was funny, quirky, loving, kind and a dear friend. She lived a long and beautiful life with Jules and I hope she is reunited with him now. Knowing her and spending time with her was one of the greatest blessings of my life. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I put the Flower Show picture up of Jules, Judy Ireland, and Dede after another successful flower show exhibit! What a great couple. I knew Jules and Dede via the RI Wild Plant Society. We became good friends and enjoyed sharing meals together. When Trinity Rep had a play that Jules was not interested in, I would often get a call from Dede to join her. We made a night of it. I have very fond memories of Dede. Your spirit lives on in your friends, Dede!

It took only one summer as a live-in babysitter and I knew I had met one of the kindest and most wonderful people I would ever meet in my life. My thoughts are with you, Ann, Julie, Andy and John and to Jules's children, as well. Rest well, De

I am so very sorry and saddened to hear of Dede´s passing. I have so many memories of her and Jules with my parents, Barry and Diane Hoffman, and my aunt and uncle, Barbara and Harry Eastwood. And even in the way back machine when she piled a countless number of us kids into her green Cadillac convertible and drove us all to one of the Newport beaches. The obituary you wrote sums up exactly how I perceived her to be and how I will remember her - Larger than life, unabashedly herself, loving, curious, generous, and fun! I share my condolences with all who love her and will miss her. I wish I could attend the service, but alas, I am now living on the West Coast. I will be there with you all in spirit to honor her and bid a fond and loving farewell.
