Betty Nicely Obituary

Betty L. Nicely, 79, of Ninety Six, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Hospice Hospice.

Born on May 28, 1946 in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Fred Briggs and Helen Radford Briggs. Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, always putting her family first. In her downtime she enjoyed watching her favorite game shows, a pastime that brought her joy and entertainment. She had a special fondness for her cats but particularly her bird, Blue.

Betty is survived by her children, Robert Rush (Joann) of Ninety Six and Linda Stone (Daniel) of Cross Hill; grandchildren, Tiffany Dodson (Chris), Kevin Willis, Allison Smith (Chris Peters), Cory Brooks (Beth Tumblin), all of Greenwood, and Chris Rush of Tennessee; and great grandchildren, Blaine Dodson, Sheadon Scroggs, Dallas Campbell, Liam Smith, and Felix Willis.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James Edward Rush and Bobby Christopher Rush.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Deaconess Jeanette Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Chris Peters, James Adams, Daniel Stone, Joe Smith, Walt Riggins, and Billy Morse.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
