Jane Saylors Obituary

Jane Ann Saylors, age 88, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Jane was born on February 27, 1937 in Ninety Six, SC to John and Anna Mae (Burt) Butler. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bossier City and attended the Parker Class and Young at Heart. She was also a member of the Bossier City Mothers' Club.

Jane graduated from Ninety Six High School and Mars Hill College. She also attended the University of South Carolina and Louisiana State University - Shreveport. She was a founding member of the First Friends Preschool at First United Methodist Church of Bossier City and retired after 22 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Saylors, Jr. and her parents. Jane is survived by four children: Dr. Bob Saylors of Springdale, AR, his wife Cindy, their children Robbie and Mimi (Dr. Nick Gowen), and great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Gowen; David Saylors of Allen, TX, his wife Melissa, children Madison (Justin Housour), Cole, J.P., and Samantha (Luc Davis), and great-grandchildren Emma and Brayden Housour; Doug Saylors of Navarre, FL, and children Jamie and Peyton; and Susan (Saylors) Bryant of Bossier City, LA, her husband Rick, and children Brittany (Chase Spatafora) and Ricky. She is also survived by a niece, Vicky Saylors Waters, of Greenwood, South Carolina and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 31, 2025 at First United Methodist Church of Bossier City. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am at the church immediately prior to the funeral. Officiating at the service will be Reverend Mark Goins, Reverend Sione Tu'uta, and Reverend David Dietzel.

Serving as pallbearers are Rick Bryant, Ricky Bryant, Chase Spatafora, Cole Saylors, Justin Housour, Robbie Saylors, and Dr. Nick Gowen. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Parker Sunday School Class.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Leslie Sewell, Dr. William Britton Eaves, Dr. Matthew Mosura, Dr. Ahmed Virani, and the staff of Willis Knighton Bossier.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, FUMC First Friends Preschool, or the charity of your choice.
