Sharon Elrod Obituary
Born in Woodruff, she was the daughter of Robert Earl and Nettie Crain Fowler. Sharon devoted over three decades as manager of Hampton House Senior Apartments, where she was known for her warmth, dedication, and tireless support of others.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Regina Richey (Maggie Szala) and Helen Phillips (Brock), both of Greenwood; grandchildren Katherine Richey (David Chiles), Robert Richey(Danielle), Cassie Ammons(Matthew), and Nick Phillips; three great grandchildren; and special niece, Ruth Parker.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by siblings Ellen Phelps, Doris Brown, Barbara Parker, Judy Satterfield, Ernest Fowler and Mickey Fowler.
A service celebrating Sharon's life will be held at 11:00am Tuesday from the Chapel of Blyth Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Waller officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00am until 11:00am Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Greenwood, 2820 Airport Rd., Greenwood, SC 29649.

I certainly miss Mrs. Elrod. Although I did not realize who she was until I read the obit I miss her dearly. We talked in the hall and in physical therapy. Helen, I will take her memory home with me when I can leave here and return home in a few weeks. She will always be one of my good memories of NHC.
