Ronald Townsend Obituary

Townsend Ronald June 30, 1956 - March 21, 2025 Age 68, of New Holland, passed away on March 21, 2025 in his residence. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Reed E. and Martha A. (Gundaker) Townsend. He was the husband of Pamela A. (Schriver) Townsend, with whom he shared 16 years of marriage. He attended Olney High School and was employed as a library assistant for 48 years in the Krauth Memorial Library at the United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He researched and collected all things related to the 1972-73 Philadelphia Blazers of the former World Hockey Association. He also enjoyed spending time researching his family's genealogy. He will be remembered as one of the kindest men you would ever meet and his greatest joy was found in doing thoughtful things for others. Ronald is survived by his wife Pamela; his brother Rick E. Townsend husband of Karen; his niece Allison Townsend; his nephew Christian Townsend husband of Joann; his great nephews Reed Townsend and Riley Townsend and his great niece Zoe Townsend. In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his brother, Robert R. Townsend. A Memorial Service will be held later this summer. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the ACLU of Pennsylvania, P.O. Box 60173, Philadelphia, PA 19102, or to a charity of your choice. GROFF HIGH FUNERAL HOME in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
