William Holton Obituary

William Fredrick "Bill" Holton, age 84, of Bishop, CA passed away on June 20, 2025, after a short illness. His beloved wife of 58 years, Martha "Marti" Holton and his children, were by his side.
Born February 11, 1941, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Bill moved to California during his youth and graduated from Nordhoff High School in Ojai in 1959. He began his career with Southern California Edison (SCE) in 1960. In 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army and served honorably until 1968. After his military service, he returned to SCE.
In 1981, Bill and his family relocated from Ventura County to Bishop. There he continued his work as an Operator in SCE's Hydro division until retiring in 1996.
Bill loved the Eastern Sierra and called it "Home". He played slo-pitch softball for many years in the city league and enjoyed working the "Chain Gang" for Bishop Union High School football games for 17 seasons. He loved fishing with his close friends and enjoyed golfing at the Bishop Country Club with friends.
He is survived by his wife Marti; son Dean and wife Whitney; daughter AmyLynn Prouty and husband Kevin; granddaughter Kayla Wise and husband Josh; grandson Jake Holton; granddaughter Maya Holton; great-grandchildren William and Ryleigh Wise.
A Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and friend – Bill will be remembered for the life he lived with quiet strength and Love for family and friends.
The family will have private services.
Donations can be made in his memory to First United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen.

I loved playing golf with your mom and dad not very long ago. He was such a great person. I know if I ever needed anything. I could´ve reached out to him and he would´ve helped. He had such a big heart. Rest in peace Bill.
