HICKORY RIDGE - Jerry Allen Carlise, Jr., of Hickory Ridge, died on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at St. Bernards Regional Hospital in Jonesboro.
Jerry was born on April 25, 1975, in Forrest City, to Jerry and Martha Carlisle. Jerry earned his private pilot's license at the age of 17. He graduated from McCrory High School in 1994. After graduation, he earned his commercial pilot's license. From 1995 to 2018, he worked for his father-in-law at Cartillar Flying Service, as a crop duster pilot for 23 years. He loved his time flying with his family and valued the many memories and relationships he formed. Later, Jerry opened Carlisle Trucking and continued until retirement.
He possessed enormous talent and skill and was always up for a challenge. He most loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. All who knew Jerry will miss his vibrant and cheerful personality.
Jerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Anna Lucille Taylor Fryer and Richard Reese Fryer, his paternal grandparents: Nettie Novella Johnson Carlisle and James Allen Carlisle, and his father-in-law, James Russell Cartillar, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jill Cartillar Carlisle of Hickory Ridge, son: Samuel Allen Carlisle of Hickory Ridge, daughter: Sydney Azline Carlisle of Hickory Ridge, grandson: Paxton Carlisle, granddaughter: Adeline Carlisle, parents: Jerry and Martha Carlisle of Fair Oaks, sister: Melissa Carlisle Hall (Tony) of Morton, mother-in-law: Peggy Karnes Cartillar of Tilton, brother-in-law: Rusty Cartillar (Djuana), sister-in-law: Judy Cartillar Pearson (Nickey), nephews: Nickey Lynn Pearson and Jayme Cartillar, nieces: Tori Cartillar Willis, Sydney Hall, Kaylee Hall, Madelyn Hall, and Peyton Pearson.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Tilton Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 am with Rev. Fred Bolinger officiating. Burial will be in Slocum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Tilton Methodist Church in memory of Jerry Carlisle, Jr.
