Robert Tomolonis Obituary

Robert John Tomolonis
Robert "Bob" John Tomolonis, 87, of South Windsor, beloved husband for 57 years of Dolores (Pandolfo) Tomolonis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Hartford on June 13, 1938, son of the late John and Nellie (Subenski) Tomolonis, he was raised in Hartford and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1956.
After high school, Bob served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1959. After returning to Hartford, Bob took a position with the Hartford Electric Light Company, which later became Northeast Utilities. He worked as a manager in the Central Region Dispatch Center and retired in 1999 after over 42 years of service to the company. During his retirement years, Bob continued to stay active and worked part-time at the Pro Shop at Willowbrook Golf Course in South Windsor, a job that he loved.
Bob loved all sports and especially enjoyed watching the UConn Men's and Women's Basketball teams along with the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. In his spare time, he loved to golf with friends and complete crossword puzzles. In good weather, one could see him walking around Nevers Road Park with his wife, Dolores.
In addition to his loving wife, he leaves two daughters, Kimberly Cadorette and her husband, Ryan, of Andover, and Karen Miller and her husband, Scott, of Avon, and his beloved granddaughter, Chloe Miller of Westerly, RI. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Jankowski and Joan Buyak.
His family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial will be private in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O.
