Sylvia Mansfield Obituary

Sylvia M. Mansfield
Sylvia M. Mansfield, age 90, a long-time resident of Coventry, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Oak Island, North Carolina. She was born on February 22, 1935, in Groton, Massachusetts. After graduating from Acton High School in 1953, Sylvia continued her education and graduated from the Institute of Stenography in 1955.
In 1956, Sylvia married the love of her life, Robert. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams. Though Robert preceded her in death, their union remains a cherished memory that continues to inspire those who knew them.
Sylvia embarked on a meaningful career in education. She served as a school secretary for over thirty years, where she touched the lives of students and faculty members with her warm smile and caring heart.
As an avid golfer of Twin Hills CC, she delighted in the camaraderie and challenge of the game. Her deep interest in birds and wildlife brought her peace and happiness, as she often marveled at the natural beauty surrounding her.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, her son, Tommy, and her dear sisters, Sally Poland and Mardi Mateya; Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of strength and warmth.
Her memory will be lovingly carried forward by her son, Robert Jr., his wife, Jodi, and her treasured grandson, Ben. The family will hold a private interment at Grant Hill Cemetery, in Coventry, where Sylvia will be reunited with loved ones.
