He enjoyed woodworking and was a talented craftsman who could build cabinets, toy chests, and bookshelves and could fix or repair anything made with wood. He was meticulous and took his time crafting wood products. A member of the First Congregational Church in East Windsor for almost 50 years, Mike served as a deacon and trustee. He enjoyed traveling and camping.
Along with his wife, Nelda, he leaves his daughter, Noreen Leighton, and her husband, James, of Vernon; his sons, Kyle LeFort and his wife, Deborah, of DeLand, FL, and Karl Fortier and his wife, Kelly, of East Granby; his sister, Loretta Turner, of Sacramento, CA; his grandchildren, Lindsay Audibert and her husband, Andrew, of Torrington, CT, Nathan LeFort and his wife, Presley, of Phoenix, AZ, Sabrina Leighton and her fiancé, Brenndan Hauser, of Hartford, Renee Leighton of Vernon, Christopher Fortier and his fiancé, Kate Schwed, of Nashua, NH, Matthew Fortier of East Granby, and William Fortier of East Granby; and his great-grandchildren, Claire and Callan Audibert. He was predeceased by his sisters, Teresa Gregory and Phyllis Lashway.

So sorry to hear about Mike´s passing. I remember him being a very nice guy. I took over his paper route when they went on vacation. May you rest in peace, Mike. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
