Barbara Brown

November 23, 1943 - June 19, 2025

Kansasville – Barbara Anne Brown, 81, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 19, 2025, at Timber Oaks Assisted Living in Union Grove. She was born November 23, 1943, to Arne and Lucille Petersen in Rice Lake, Wis. Barbara grew up in Kansasville and graduated from Burlington High School. Barbara enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises. She was an animal lover and liked singing to country music. Barbara was a dedicated mother who devoted her life to caring for her children and family. She will be greatly missed.

Barbara is survived by her children, Shannon K. Petersen, Melissa J. Petersen, and Russell W. Brown (Heather Garcia); and her brother, Brad (Donna) Petersen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Brown; and her sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Donald Christy.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Friday June 27th, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the prayer service starting at 7 p.m.

The family extends a special thank you to Jackie Duryee and Stacy Erdman and all the staff of Timber Oaks for their compassionate care of Barbara.
