John Albert Papara

July 27, 1967 - February 8, 2025

John Albert Papara passed away peacefully in Oak Lawn, Illinois on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the age of 57. He resided in Evergreen Park, Illinois at the time of his death. John was born in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Louis and Nancy (Nee: Haakenson) Papara. He grew up in Racine, graduating from William Horlick High School. John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside.

John was a fun-loving drummer with a big heart. His passion for music was the soundtrack to his beautiful life. He was a kind and generous soul who brought humor to whatever he did. John worked in customer service and sales throughout his career, but also created logos and graphic materials for small businesses with his company, JP Concepts, and owned Chicago Pourmasters, where he bartended for Chicago's elite. He was thankful for his loving dog, Junebug, who was at his side during many months of chemotherapy.

John is survived by his wife, Allison Papara, his son, Rocco, whom he adored; siblings Camille (David) Bourne, Candice (Steven) Lucareli, Jerry Papara, Richard Papara and MaryLou (Jonathan) Fisher; stepmother, MaryEllen Papara; nieces, nephews and many relatives. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lisa Papara.

His family will host a celebration of life for John at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30th. Please join us. We love you and miss you already, John!
