Carlton Lavergne Obituary

Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Carlton J. Lavergne, 90. Mr. Lavergne, a native of Church Point and resident of Scott, LA, died Thursday evening, May 22 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the Church. Survivors include his daughters: Peggy Guidry and husband Randall of Church Point, Chris Bourgeois and husband Todd and Angie Champagne and husband Brock-all of Scott, LA and Rachelle Lavergne of Lafayette; his grandchildren: Garrett, Dustin and Caleb Guidry, Hannah Link, Blaise, Savannah and Elliot Bourgeois, Madison Fogle and Austin Champagne; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and his sisters, Betty Morgan and husband Leonard of Rayne, LA and Patricia Lively of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerasizme and Ellena Matte Lavergne; his wife, Loretta Richard Lavergne; a granddaughter, Olivia Bourgeois; a great-grandson, Caleb Seth Guidry II; a sister, Yolande Matte and a baby brother. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM Tuesday until the time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 1:15 PM. A devout Catholic with a good sense of humor, Mr. Lavergne was a farmer for a number of years. A loving husband, father and grandfather; he loved "The Old West" and motorcycles and enjoyed being with his extended family. Truly loved, he will be missed by all who knew him.
