Mary Jolliffe Obituary

Mary passed away, Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Alamo Cove Nursing Home in Kalamazoo. She was born July 18, 1932, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Axel and Wilma Matson. Mary graduated from Godwin Heights High School and as a young woman worked at a root beer stand in Grand Rapids. Her strong work ethic carried over to Alamo Nursing Home where she worked for 10 years while her mother was a resident. Mary was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed flower gardening, canning vegetables and following sports. She was a woman of strong faith and attended Faith Christian Reform Church in Kalamazoo for many years and most recently attended Oak Grove Bible Church. On June 25, 1952, she married William Jolliffe and together they shared 43 years together until his passing in 1995. Surviving are her children, Ken (Amy) Jolliffe of Holland, Greg (Nancy) Jolliffe of Allegan and Ellen Jolliffe of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Rory, Hilary, Mike, Bill, Destri and Kail and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ruby and Nova. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Steven and granddaughter, Lindsey. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will take place at Alamo Center Cemetery in Alamo Township. Contributions in memory of Mary may be directed to Oak Grove Bible Church.
