Karen Ceasar Hogan Obituary

Karen Ceasar Hogan, 82, of Hudson, Florida, passed away June 21, 2025. A retired teacher, Karen was born to James and Thelma Ceasar in Boca Raton, Florida, on February 10, 1943. After a lengthy illness, she died peacefully with her husband Ted at her side.

Karen graduated from Wichita High School East in 1961. She received her bachelor's degree and first master's degree in education from Wichita State University where she was also a member of Alpha Phi sorority. In later years, she earned a second master's degree in Building Supervision.

She loved teaching children, from the first year through highschool, and taught in California, Florida, Connecticut, New York, North Carolina and Kansas. She spent her final decade in education working with gifted children.

Karen also loved dogs and horses. She had dogs of a variety of breeds all her life. When she was a teenager, horsemanship drew her into 4H activities. She was equally experienced with English and western styles.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ted Hogan, her brother Jim Ceasar; her stepson George Hogan, her stepdaughter Jo Ann Torregrosa. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Rick Ceasar and Bill Ceasar.

A donation in memory of Karen may be sent to the Kansas Humane Society 3313 north Hillside Wichita Kansas 67219.
