Vera Vargo Obituary

Park City, Kansas - Vera C. Vargo, 85, died at her home in Park City, Kansas with her family be her side. She was born on August 4, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Calumet City, Illinois. She married Lester Vargo in 1958 in Lansing, Illinois. They lived in Hammond, Indiana for many years. The family were longtime members of the 1st Assembly of God Church. Lester died in 1996. Through the years she had been active with the Cub Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America. She received the Silver Beaver award for her service. Vera moved to Springfield, Missouri where she was a bus aid for handicapped children. She later moved with her daughter Julie to Park City, Kansas.
Survivors include her daughters Julie Magana and husband Daniel of Park City, Ks, Leslie Stanish and husband Thomas of Hammond, Indiana; son Michael Vargo and wife MiYong of Enterprise, Alabama; grandchildren Michael Vargo, Sarah Johnson and husband Billy, Shelby Robbins, Emily Beneteau and husband Cayle; and great grandchildren Rachel and Emily Johnson. Vera is also preceded in death by, her father Benjamin Spittal, mother Jewell Wright Spittal, son Gerald Thomas Vargo, brother Benjamin Spittal, sister Kay Pucalik, sister Vivian Howard. Private family services will be held.
Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Ks.
