Cynthia Rogan Obituary

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the loss of Cynthia Diane Rogan (née Fetner). Known to friends and family as Cindy, mom, and g'ma, Cindy made the lives of everyone around her better from her birth on September 28, 1955 in Langdale, AL to her death on May 19, 2025 in Medford, OR. She is survived by her three daughters, Mariah Lynn Rogan, Stacy Leann Tanzi, and Suzannah Rae Rogan; her granddaughter, Raina Leanne Tanzi; her sisters, Michelle Crowder and Tina Wilhite; brother, Mel Fetner; her dog, Pokey; and the community she cultivated, loved, and cared for until her last breath. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mary Nell Fetner; beloved sister, Jeannie Fetner; cherished grandson, Hayden Allan Tanzi; and dogs, Creo and Sadie.

Creative to her toes, Cindy is known to many in the valley through her doodles, playwriting and acting, novels, southern dishes (that always included vegetables from her garden), and baked goods. And while it wasn't until after her divorce that she found her author voice, her family has always known her creativity through her storytelling, sewing, singing, guitar playing, and baking. She was a tender and caring mother and grandmother who was constantly learning in an effort to understand people from their point of view. Her life and her creative output revolved around compassion and empathy for others. Her goal in life was to feed people - mind, body, and soul - and she wouldn't settle for anything less nor would she allow us to not continue her compassionate legacy.

In honor said compassion, please consider a donation in her name to the Maslow Project or similar organization in your area that serves people at the margins of society. The family encourages those who met or knew her to join them at Paschal Winery and Vineyard (1122 Suncrest Road, Talent, OR. 97504) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on July 12, 2025 to celebrate her life. Please dress in colorful, celebratory wear. No black necessary.
