Douglas D. Weissert, of Kearney passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at St. John's Good Samaritan Home in Kearney. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Doug was born September 7, 1944 in Lexington, Neb., to Mark H. and Irene (Foss) Weissert. On June 5, 1977, he was united in marriage to Connie Schutz. To this union two sons were born.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Weissert of Kearney; sons, Alex (Cathy) Weissert and Ben Weissert; grandsons, Conner and Brody; sister, Karen Deeter; brothers, Matt and Scott Weissert and their families.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, John Weissert; brother-in-law, LeRoy Deeter; and great nephew, Izaac Deeter.
