Winchester, Kentucky - John Ronald Gyula, 76, husband of Maryett Maynard Gyula, passed away August 1, 2025. His service is on August 7, at 6:00 pm, visitation 4:00 pm until the hour of service, at Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home, Winchester.

Dear Maryette and boys,
We are so sorry to hear of Joh's passing. He was such a kind, caring and thoughtful person. John has been in our life since 1972 and a true friend. We thought so much of John that we chose him to be our son Matthews God-Father. Maryette thank you for bringing John up to us last summer sadly we had no idea it would be the last time we would see him. In honor of Johns great love for nature, we have 10 trees being planted in Oregon to replace the trees that were burnt. We send you much Love and Prayers.

I worked with John at IBM Kingston. We belonged to a club in which he led many hikes in the Catskills. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and well liked. He NEVER got us lost! A genuine nice guy.
My deepest sympathy to his family. He will be missed.
