Gregory Collins Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory "Greg" Collins Jr. (February 28, 1986 -June 24, 2025), who left this world unexpectedly, at the age of 39. Greg lived a life full of love, dedication, and generosity, giving to anyone who crossed his path.
Greg leaves behind a strong and loving family. Surviving him are his wife of 14 years and partner of 25 years, Dasia Collins, his children, Kaylin Collins (13 yrs) and Gregory Collins III (3 yrs), his parents, Dori and Gregory Collins Sr., and his sister, Rebecca (Miguel) Palomino. He will also be missed by his nephew Collin, his nieces Marleigh and Jennelle, his grandparents Elsie Faraldo and Axel Urbanik in addition to many other aunts, uncles, Cusin's, his "Brotherhood" Bros, and dear friends. He is greeted in Heaven by his grandparents Kathryn "Nana" Faraldo, Gilbert Gates, James and Marjorie Collins, among friends Chase Barber, Rhett Bacle, and fur baby's "Merc", and "Turq".
After graduating high school in Key West, FL in 2004, Greg attended Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI) following his love for boats and being on the water. After the birth of their first child, in 2015 Gregory left behind the "island life" he knew so well, to begin a new chapter in the hometown of his high school sweetheart, in Springfield, OR. Greg showed tenacity in everything he pursued. He was a hard worker and providing for his family was his top priority. He became a licensed general contractor in 2016, starting a construction company with his wife, Dasia. In 2024, he did the hardest thing he's ever done. He spent the following 17 months living long distance from his family in hopes to secure their financial future, by going into business rebuilding seawalls for his grandfather Axel in Key West, FL.
Greg had an appreciation for the simpler things in life. He spent most of his leisure time on the boat, cruising backcountry, fishing, and catching bait, and watching sunsets, accompanied by his family as often as possible.
As we mourn the loss of Greg, we also want to celebrate his life and continue his legacy. In lieu of flowers, funds are being raised to "Aid in the financial loss" for his Wife and Kids, as Greg was the sole provider. Donations can be made to Dasia directly via Venmo (@DasiaCollins), via ApplePay (541)797-9677, or through this memorial website by clicking the "Donate" tab. at https://everloved.com/life-of/gregory-collins-jr/donate/. Your contributions will greatly help his Family focus on the healing process during this emotionally trying time.
Greg's life was a testament to courage, resilience, and profound love for his family. As we fondly remember him, we hope his life's journey will inspire and uplift others. We take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through his loved ones and the memories they shared. Please take a moment to share your memories here, or write to the family directly. The memories collected will be compiled to create a memory book that will preserve his legacy, and shared often with his son, who will rely on your stories to keep his father close. The family thanks you for your support during these trying times, and for your help with this project.
