Kenneth Keller Obituary
Kenneth Dean "Ken" Keller, 62, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away on October 1, 2025. He was born on March 8, 1963, in Denver, to Denver Keller and Rosemary Hepp.
Ken grew up in Salida and graduated from Salida High School. He went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy as a radioman aboard the USS Jarrett, stationed out of Long Beach, California. Halfway through his service, when his ship was set to deploy to the Philippines, Ken made the choice to transfer ships so he could remain near his future wife, Debbie - a decision that perfectly captures his loyalty and love for her. Though he famously chose the Navy over the Army to avoid "sitting in a tent looking at sand all day," he went on to become an avid reader of military and war history throughout his life.
Ken had a lifelong passion for rock music, drumming, and live shows - he saw hundreds of concerts, and somehow always managed to find his way backstage or snag an autograph. He passed his love of music to his children, who credit their dad for a deep knowledge of metal and rock.
A diehard Denver Broncos fan, Ken treated football Sundays like holidays, complete with queso and full Broncos gear. He loved riding motorcycles, dirt bikes, and four-wheelers, and camping - especially summer trips to Nederland, sometimes bringing his dog, Jack, along for the ride.
For over 25 years, Ken was a coach and mentor in the Broomfield community, leading teeball, softball, and basketball teams. If you were a young softball player in Broomfield, chances are Ken coached you. He also volunteered with Special Olympics and was a dedicated supporter of local high school athletes and collegiate women's sports.
Ken was incredibly outgoing and had a nickname for everyone - from "Casper" to "Roundhead" to "Lefty." He never met a stranger he couldn't strike up a conversation with, and he ran into someone he knew no matter how far from home he traveled.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Keller; children Jessica Chrisbacher, Jensen Keller, and Brad Keller; and sisters Dixie Prine, Danna Bullington, and Kristi Keller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver Keller and Rosemary Hepp.
Ken will be remembered as a husband, father, brother, veteran, coach, and proud Coloradan.
Per the family's wishes, no service will be held.
