AUBURN - Carol Sue (Bussell) Reese, age 79, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Carol was born in Garrett, Indiana, on March 28, 1946, to J. Phillip and Helen (Stebing) Bussell.
She attended Auburn High School, graduating in 1964, followed by entering Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, graduating in 1967.
She worked as an obstetric nurse at DeKalb Memorial Hospital for 40 years. She also worked for WIC and Betz Nursing Home.
Carol was a life-long member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Auburn, and was active in various programs there. She also volunteered at the Curiosity Shop in Garrett.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey (Cindy) Reese, of Hamilton; her daughter, Suzanne Leslie, of Auburn; her son, Marcus (Jeremy Ecenbarger) Reese, of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Mason (Hanna) Reese, Jarrett Reese, Ashlyn Reese, Morgann Leslie, Alex Leslie, Cooper Reese, Luca Reese and Elias Reese; two great-granddaughters, Blayke Knight and June Reese. Carol is also survived by her sister, Jayne (David) McClellan.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Roger Hunter in 1970.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 211 W. 9th St., on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1-4 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the DeKalb County Humane Society or the Curiosity Shop.
