Lawrence Zecca
GARRETT - Lawrence "Larry" C. Zecca, age 67, of Garrett, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.
Lawrence was born on July 1, 1957, in Garrett, Indiana, to Henry Zecca Sr., and Mary Helen (Butler) Zecca.
Larry was a general worker for Messenger Corporation in Auburn, Indiana.
Everyone called Lawrence - Larry. He was a rock 'n' roll enthusiast and worked with several local bands over the years. One was F.B.C., led by Gary McMeekin. They toured throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Larry was with them for six years. Then he worked with the Red Belly Boys, led by David Todoran. They entered a national band contest in California, and the band placed in the runner up spot to the winner! Lastly, he worked with the Bulldogs. They performed throughout northern Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. Robert Zmyslony and Wayne Neukom are the local Garrett guys in the band.
Larry also had the opportunity to see the Space Shuttle launched several times while touring with F.B.C. in Florida. They could see the launch pad from their hotel. Larry loved watching Indy Car Racing! He actually met his favorite driver, Arie Luyendyk, in the pits at the Indy 500 back in the day!
Larry is survived by his sister, Brenda Buck, of Garrett, Indiana; nieces, Brooke Zecca, Amanda (Steve) Zecca and Jennifer Buck; nephews, Paul (Amber) Zecca and Justin Buck; a great-niece; and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr., and Mary Helen Zecca; and brother, Henry Pau Zecca Jr.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, Indiana.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Garrett, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
