Barry Kreek Obituary

Barry Ellsworth Kreek was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on March 13, 1951. He was one of two children of Thomas Ellsworth and Claire Florence Anne (Sames) Kreek. Barry graduated from Oregon High School in 1969, and later from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1973 with a degree in electrical engineering. While in Columbia he met and later married Beverly Jo "Bev" Breedlove. They were married in Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 1974, and they became parents of three children. They made their home in Oregon, Missouri, where Barry operated Kreek's Grocery Store and later the Citizens Bank of Oregon. Barry was active in the Oregon community. He was a Kiwanis member, and was also past president of the Missouri Independent Bankers Association. Barry passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2025 at a St. Joseph care center at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Bev, of their Oregon home; children, Andii K. (Douglas) Irwin, Matthew T. (Beth A.) Kreek, and Elizabeth A. (Mark) Quick; sister, Cynthia A. Pulliam; and grandchildren, Jaxson and Kennedy Jobe, August Irwin, Madalyn Kreek, and Isabella, William, Guinnyth, and Julia Quick. Family visitation: Sunday, July 6, 2025, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Funeral services: Monday, 10:30 am, Monday, July 7, 2025, Oregon United Methodist Church.
