Russell Kammerer Obituary

Russell Lee Kammerer, 75 of Rosendale, MO passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at a local hospital in St. Joseph. He was born April 15, 1950 in Houston, TX to Oscar Philip & Mabel Darlene (Ferguson) Kammerer. Russell served in the Army from September 1968 to June 1970, where he earned a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster and two Bronze Stars during his time in Vietnam. Russell loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. He enjoyed many sports such as basketball, softball, and golfing. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. Survivors include his children, Andrea (Ashley) Schildknecht of Rosendale, MO and Charlie (Haleigh) Kammerer of Meriden, KS; grandchildren, Blake (Jaymi) Barnhart, Austin Barnhart, Megann Schildknecht, Coleson Kammerer, and Lyla Kammerer; brother, Doug Kammerer; nephew, Chris (Nichole) Kammerer; and niece, Leslee (Jason) Manley of Fillmore, MO; great nieces and nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by Oscar & Darlene Kammerer. Memorial services will be 11:00am Monday, July 14, 2025 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Visitation and family receiving hour will be 10:00am-11:00am Monday, July 14, 2025 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow the services at Bennett Lane Cemetery, Savannah, MO.
