Suzanne Prawitz Obituary

Suzanne "Sue" Prawitz, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, with her daughters by her side. Sue was born on April 6, 1941, in St. Joseph, MO, to Edmund and Mildred (Gloggner) Schott.
She graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in St. Joseph. Raising her family was her priority; however, she also worked outside the home over the years and retired from East Ridge Vision.
Sue married Ronald J. Prawitz Sr. on June 16, 1962. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son-in-law, Mike Stroud; brothers, Edmond Schott (Sharon), Joseph Schott, Thomas Schott, and Robert Schott; and brother-in-law, Edward Rust.
She is survived by her children: Ron Jr. (Melody), Tim (Jan), Steve (Christine), Judie (Kent) Townsend, and Kathie Stroud. Her cherished grandchildren include Lindsay Prawitz, Aaron (Hillary) Prawitz, Josh Prawitz, Ashley (Tyler) Schmidt, Rachael Prawitz, Amanda Prawitz, Courtney Prawitz, Austin (Emily McNett) Prawitz, Chelsea (Cory) Hagan, Lauren (Kean) Mignery, Brandon (Destiney Lindholm) Edwards, Andrew Stroud, and Allison Stroud. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Emma, Blake, Rylie, Lilly, Addie, Wyatt, Raycel, Flynn, Radley, and Lorelei.
Sue is also survived by her siblings: Timothy (Loretta) Schott, Judith Rust, Raymond (Virgeen) Schott, and Teresa (Ronald) Krietemeyer, as well as her "bonus sister," Barb Reiner.
Faith was always at the forefront of Sue's life, and daily prayers were a staple of her day. Her generous heart was evident to all who knew her, and she lived life with vibrance and joy. Sue cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her biggest smiles came when she was surrounded by them. Though her passing leaves a huge void in many hearts, may we find comfort in having known her and strive to embrace the same peace and joy she carried throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral Food Pantry, Cathedral School, or Bishop LeBlond High School.
The Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 5:30 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Visitation will follow the Rosary until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 am at Cathedral of St. Joseph. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
