Jeanette Luke, 69 of Marion, passed away surrounded by her family on July 3, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, Parker. Visitation will take place 1 hour before the service. Arrangements provided by Hofmeister-Jones Funeral Home. The Service will be broadcasted om her obituary page.
Jeanette was born on December 20th, 1955 to Kenneth and Elaine (Zeman) Luke. She was the fifth of seven children. The family resided in Marion during Jeanette’s childhood. After graduation, Jeanette continued to live in the Marion area, until her passing.
Jeanette worked many jobs during her life. She worked as a seamstress, teacher’s aide, cashier, head school cook, and a full-time mother. She was always walking and exercising, always stopping and having fellowship with those she met along the way. She loved spending time with her family and her friends. She enjoyed studying the Bible, doing puzzles and traveling with her son.
One of Jeanette’s greatest gifts was bringing her family together, reaching out to others with birthdays, anniversaries, and loving comments. Jeanette touched every life that she met, its evidence in the family that she leaves behind.
Her survivors who will miss and adore her include her son Scott; brother Bob (Bonnie) Luke, of Buena Vista, Virginia and nephews, Cory (Betsy) and Rob Luke; sister Deloris of Emery, SD and nieces and nephews, Laurie (Dave) Kayser, Michelle (Chris) Doyle, Bobby (Lori) Sechser, Pamela (Jack) Weber, Bill (Jessica) Sechser, and Brian Sechser; brother Vernon (Sharon) Luke of Houston, TX, nephews Pooh (Tracey) Broussard; Chris (Emily) Broussard, Cameron (Abby) Luke, and Tyler Luke; Jeanne (Maurice) DeBelts, of Sioux Falls, SD and niece and nephew Amy (Wally) Quaschnick and Jason (Savanah) DeBelts, brother Ed (Linda) Luke of Marion, SD, niece Jenna (John) Kosters; brother Kenny (Kathy) Luke, of rural Worthing, SD nephew and niece Lawton (Victoria) Luke and Callie Luke with numerous great nieces and nephews that she enjoyed immensely throughout life.
Loved ones preceding her in death include her parents.
