Becky was born on September 29, 1965 to Erwin and Laura Schulz of Lawler, IA. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Boyd. At the age of 5 Becky was diagnosed with a cancerous kidney. She underwent surgery to remove the kidney and had many hospital stays and weeks of radiation. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Boyd. Becky graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1984 and then enrolled at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. A change in her career path led her to the School of Nursing in Calmar, IA and employment at New Hampton Nursing & Rehab. Once she became an RN, Becky was employed for several years at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, IA working with obstetrics, delivery and NICU babies. Becky's dream was to one day work at Mayo Clinic and this dream was realized when she was hired at Mayo Clinic. She was very proud to work there helping others until her health declined and she was unable to continue working.
Becky's greatest life event was the birth of her son, Dalton, in 1997. Dalton held the key to her heart and she always had a smile on her face when thinking of him or talking of him. In recent years they enjoyed watching movies, watching their favorite sports teams and sharing funny videos. Since she was a child growing up on the farm with many animals, Becky loved all animals. In the last few years she gave her love to Aubrey (dog) and Coda (cat)and they in turn were awesome companions for her. Becky also loved shopping and finding the greatest deals and even while homebound these past years she so enjoyed the online shopping experience. Becky's family meant the world to her. It was important for her to always keep up-to-date on everyone's birthdays, vacations, life events, etc., and in our hearts we knew she was always with us.
Becky is survived by her son Dalton Schulz of Rochester, MN, her sister-in-law Marsha Schulz of Oelwein, IA, her brother David Schulz of Durant, IA, her brother Dick Schulz of Ankeny, IA, her sister Sherry (Michael) Buttjer of Plainfield, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.
