Michael Aegerter Obituary

Michael Alan Aegerter age 63 of Nashua, IA died Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his home in Nashua, IA. Friends may greet the family from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Fredericksburg. A private family graveside service will be held at the New Hampton City Cemetery. Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Fredericksburg have been entrusted with arrangements. Born on August 28, 1961, in New Hampton, Iowa, to Earl and Darlene (Lechtenberg) Aegerter, Mike, as he was affectionately called, brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Mike grew up in a loving family and attended Sumner High School, where he formed friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. After high school, he ventured out of state for work, exploring new places and gaining experiences that would shape his character. Eventually, Mike returned to Nashua, where he became a familiar face among the local farming community, always willing to lend a hand and share his expertise. A true outdoorsman at heart, Mike found solace and excitement in nature. Whether he was fishing in the serene waters of Iowa, setting up camp under the stars, revving up his motorcycle for a ride, or gliding through the snow on his snowmobile, he was happiest when surrounded by the great outdoors. His love for adventure was matched only by his passion for science fiction movies, which fueled his imagination and brought him countless hours of enjoyment. Family was the cornerstone of Mike's life. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, whether it was sitting with his brothers, sharing drinks, laughter, and a competitive game of pool, or simply enjoying the company of his dear family members. Mike had a particular fondness for his niece Tara's no-bake cookies and the homemade meals lovingly prepared by his mother on weekends. These simple pleasures were the highlights of his life, reflecting the warmth and affection he felt for his family. Mike's presence was unmistakable; he was the kind of person who filled a room with his hearty laughter and playful jokes. His willingness to help others was legendary, and he often extended a helping hand without a second thought. Friends and family knew they could count on Mike for support, a good story, or a much-needed laugh. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories. Mike is survived by his mother Darlene Aegerter of Fredericksburg; his brothers: Patrick Aegerter of Frederika and Steve Aegerter of Fredericksburg; his sisters: Diane (Greig) Burggraf of Fredericksburg and Lisa Converse of Sumner; and several adoring nieces and nephews who will miss their uncle dearly. He was preceded in death by his father Earl Aegerter and his sister Debra Heoger. They, along with all who knew him, will remember Mike for the light he brought into their lives. (563) 237-6212
