Beverly Kay Schultz
April 1, 1949 - May 29, 2025
Beverly Kay (Anderson) Schultz, age 76, of Sparta, Wis., was called home to heaven on May 29, 2025, with family by her side. Beverly was born on April 1, 1949, to Albertus "Bert" and Emma (Biegel) Anderson at St. Mary's Hospital in Sparta. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk. Beverly graduated from Sparta High School in 1967 and the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1971 with a degree in Home Economics Education. Beverly met the love of her life, Keith Schultz, through Monroe County 4-H when she was 9 and he was 10. They later reconnected and dated while she was in college, and he was in the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. Keith and Beverly were united in marriage on January 30, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta. Beverly worked as a substitute teacher and when she and Keith moved to Central Wisconsin, she joined Sentry Insurance, celebrating 32 years at the time of her retirement in 2004. Over the years, she worked in several departments, where she formed many lasting friendships. After her retirement, Beverly spent her days substitute teaching, working at Gundersen Health System, gardening, traveling, caring for her parents, and doting on her grandchildren. Most important to her were her husband, children, and grandchildren; she was always just a call away.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Keith, of Sparta; three children, Stacia (Neil) Burrows, of Tomahawk, Christopher (Erin) Schultz, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Rochelle (Calley) Homann, of Wisconsin Rapids. Seven grandchildren, Olivia and Lydia Burrows, Brayden, Parker, Dawson Schultz, and Hudson and Easton Homann. Siblings, Darwin (Roxy) Anderson, of Lancaster, Sue (Kent) Johnson, of Merrill, Sherry (Steve) Norris, of Rochester, Cindy (Nolan) Thesing, of Sparta, Scott (Sandy) Anderson, of Sparta, and Brian (Ann) Anderson, of Sparta. In-laws, Denise (Gene) Baumgarten, of Tomah, Darrell (Dina) Schultz, of Tomah and Kenny Hanson, of Tomah; as well as uncle, Gary Bibby; and aunts, Sharon Anderson and Ruthann Whereatt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Janelle (Nichols) Wood and Connie Ziolkowski.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Emma; an infant daughter, Katie; twin grandchildren, Chance and Kennedy Homann; in-laws, Gilbert "Gib" and Marlys (Brookman) Schultz; sister-in-law, Nancy Hanson; along with several aunts and uncles.
Beverly will be remembered for being an exceptional cook and for the tireless love and devotion she showed towards being a wife, mother and grandmother (aka: Gram Bev). Her warm genuine smile, witty sense of humor, and compassion guided her in all that she did in life.
