Deanna Harpstreith Obituary

Deanna (Olson) Harpstreith

November 20, 1947 - February 1, 2025

LA CROSSE Deanna (Olson) Harpstreith, age 77 of La Crosse passed away on Saturday, February 1 at Brookdale Senior Living in La Crosse after a brave battle with cancer. Deanna was born on November 20, 1947, to John and Luella (Rostvold) Olson in La Crosse.

Deanna attended school in La Crosse. She worked for La Crosse Footwear until her retirement. One fine day Deanna happened to cross paths with Leo "Mike" Harpstreith at Swede's Restaurant in La Crosse. Then on December 3, 1966 she married him, the love of her life who after 53 years of marriage passed away April 26, 2019.

She enjoyed anything chocolate and her love of animals included feeding the rabbits and squirrels in their yard, much to Mike's endearing annoyance. Deanna will be deeply missed.

Deanna is survived by her brothers, Virgil Olson and Tony Olson (Sherri) of La Crosse; sister Theresa Haskey of Stoddard; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike; sisters Irene Walter, Linda Goede, Verna Savaggio; brother, Jerry; and pet children Augie and Mike.

Deanna's wishes were to be cremated and no funeral will be held. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later time.
