William Peters Obituary

William Koller Peters

April 21, 1932 - January 8, 2025

William Koller Peters, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his home in Biglerville where he lived with his wife, Shelbia (Quesinberry) for over 60 years.

William was born on April 21, 1932 to John Byron Peters and Mary Eugenia Koller Peters. After he graduated high school he served in the United States Army, training and serving in various airborne units. He was a proud paratrooper but returned to Adams County and dedicated his life to the Peters Orchards family business. Blessed with a family of eight children; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren, he was a proud Dad, Grandpa, and Husband. He belonged to Good Samaritan Lodge #336, Gettysburg Commandery No.79, and many other organizations. He was a loyal member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Biglerville.

He loved the outdoors, nature, and being a fruit grower. William enjoyed walking in the woods and working in the flower gardens with his wife. He found great excitement and joy in cutting firewood for himself and anyone in his family. Always ready to help anyone in need, he was an excellent role model for his entire family. He was loved and respected by all who were lucky enough to know him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Stella Jarvis, Kathy Riordan (Bill), Naomi (Ruth) Munkittrick (Tom), Shelbia McConnell (Troy), William Peters (Rufina), Marian Fertenbaugh, Ethan Peters (Tracy), and Mark (Rick); along with his grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Mary, John, Susan, Earl, Virginia, George; and great-grandson, Silas.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 12 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Biglerville. Pastor Wayne E.
