Melanie Hunter Obituary

Nov. 6, 1954 - Jul. 5, 2025 Bloomington, Ind. - Beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother Melanie (Irvin) Hunter, of Bloomington, IN, passed peacefully at her home early Saturday morning, July 5th.

Born November 6th, 1954 to Bill and Naomi (Williams) Irvin of Lawrenceville, IL, Melanie was the oldest of seven lively children. She is survived by her four sisters: Michelle Irvin, of Vincennes, IN; Julie Irvin, of Lawrenceville, IL; Colleen Irvin, of Vincennes; and Renee Irvin of Lawrenceville: as well as by her two brothers, Neil and Eric Irvin, both of Lawrenceville.

Remembered for her kind heart, wry humor and keen musical ear, Melanie is survived also by her everloving husband of 34 years Robert Hunter, of Bloomington, IN; two sons, Joshua and Ethan Kearns, also both of Bloomington; three grandchildren, numerous other family, and countless friends. She will be enormously missed.

Services to be held Saturday, July 12th, at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home (4150 E. Third Street), with Visitation beginning at 11am, followed by the Ceremony at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
